Kate
Inquisitive. Cheeky. Unique.
Kate is an experienced Social Media Strategist with a demonstrated history of working in writing and editing. She is an all-round, talented media and communication professional, skilled in film production, crew scheduling, television, SAP ERP, and Process Scheduler.
Kate graduated from Edith Cowan University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Writing and Media. Kate’s studies took her to a career in Australia’s film industry where she worked on feature films and TV series all over the country. Leaving behind ten years in film, Kate completed a Post Grad Certificate in Art and Design in 2016, before commencing her current studies, a Masters of Internet Communications, at Curtin University. Kate combines her interest in post-structuralism, psychoanalysis and mass communication through her engagement on the Internet.
Kate’s ultimate aim is to combine the artistic process with ethical practices to make a better human race.
Simon
Enthusiastic. Cogent. Switzerland.
Simon is an internationalised Australian, having spent many years living in Oman, Qatar and England. While he still hasn’t mastered an answer to the question “Where are you from?”, he wants to provide more important answers to the political and legislative questions that can frustrate and intrigue on social media. Defusing the confusion. He is currently studying a Diploma in Internet Communications at Curtin University, to complement his undergraduate degree in Law and Business from the University of Kent.
Simon loves stories that balance the serious with the absurd, and 2017 has not disappointed from that perspective.
“Occasionally the difficultly with the news is knowing when to laugh and when it’s time to consult Google Translate for a more exotic and socially acceptable expletive and I can get disgruntled watching the Socceroos, Chelsea and certain ex-PMs”.
Simon is open to changing his stance on political issues if presented with compelling facts. He has no loyalty to any party.
Dunja
Realist. Sarcastic. Goofball.
Dunja is a content editing guru and general communications professional specialising in web-based solutions.
Her career and passion for online communications started at RMIT University, where she completed her Bachelor of Communications with a major in Media. While she quickly realised her initial interest in studying film and television was propped up heavily by a love of watching films and TV shows, she thankfully discovered a new passion for websites, and the process behind making them as visually appealing and readable as possible.
Soon after graduation that passion progressed into a full-blown career, when she landed a job as a content editor and hasn’t looked back since. Perpetually camera/attention-shy in the online realm, Dunja finds great comfort in the power afforded to her by holding editorial control over the words of others.
She is now studying a Masters in Internet Communications to solidify her knowledge of online communications.
